Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. [Philippians 2:5–6]
“O come let us adore Him—Christ the Lord!”
Early this month, I went to Gardens by the Bay to enjoy the Christmas decór and heard this song sang and played. Every time I hear the last three words, Christ the Lord, my heart skips a beat in awe and wonder. Christ, the Lord, choosing to leave the glory of heaven to save us. If we meditate on that and let that sink in, we will realise what an awesome deed that was.
What’s more, this phrase doesn’t glorify the other aspects of Christmas, but CHRIST. Christmas is all about CHRIST, My Awesome Saviour. May He receive all due praise and glory forever and ever, even so on Christmas Day. O come let us adore Christ the Lord and receive a fresh revelation of His grace and glory into our lives.
